I think I may have caught something from one of my patients. I've called in sick in the meantime.

Please do not worry about visiting me. I would hate for any of you to catch what I have! I don't know how serious it is yet, but better safe than sorry!

A colleague believes that it is just a cold, but I fear it is something worse since I have been treating a patient with gastroenteritis. This fever has already lasted for a couple of days!

Sounds terrible. Have you been experiencing any other symptoms of this? Are you worried about becoming dehydrated?

I am extremely worried about dehydration! I've been drinking water and Gatorade nonstop since the fever started to prevent it. I've also experienced fatigue and I've been losing my appetite!

Have you been doing anything else aside from drinking? If you've been in bed all day, fatigue is only natural, right? Also regarding your appetite, you might be drinking too much. Did your colleague give you any medication?

I'll bring you some soup or something. And lots of vitamin C. Don't worry about me. Even if I get sick it's not as if I have to miss classes or anything. Someone should be there to take care of you.
